Fun In The Sun!

I suppose it's perfect weather to dust off the kiddie pool for some fun in the sun. Weston had a blast, of course. By the time we were able to snatch him out of there his diaper was the size of a small planet. I should have snapped a picture of the diaper also.

Saturday was also hair cutting day. Weston did NOT like the clippers on his head. So after a few failed attempts, Mike had to hold Weston's head while he screamed and mamma did her best to cut his hair as fast as possible. All was forgiven when the pool came out afterwards.

Also fun for summer, the ROSES ARE BLOOMING! YAY! I got a couple of long stem roses for Mother's Day last Sunday. I love watching them bloom, they are beautiful.

On another note: A few weeks back a guy from our church sent out an email giving away some budding fruits and vegies from his green house. So we dropped by and he gave us a tray full of yellow squash, zucchini, cucumbers and cantelope! YUM! He explained to us which plants needed full sunlight and which needed a fence to climb. The next day Mike went out and bought a bunch of good soil and then spent a good part of the day digging up a space in the back yard, fencing it off to keep Weston out, and planting the vegies as we had been instructed. Now, do any of you remember the scene from the movie "Secondhand Lions" where the old men decide to plant a garden. The boy asks his uncle what they are growing the the uncle replys pointing to the individual row saying something like "this is corn, beets, carrots" etc... and then the boy says something like "then why do they all look the same". Turns out they had been swindled and they ended up with an entire field full of corn. NOW back to my story! I go out to check on our lovely garden of squash, zucchini, cucumbers and cantelopes and THEY ALL LOOK EXACTLY THE SAME!!! Every one of them has the same type of leaves!!! ARG! Only time will tell what it is that we are growing and something deep down tells me it will probably be the yellow squash- because I hate yellow squash!!

Time flies when you're having fun!

Mike and I just had our 5th wedding anniversary on Saturday, May 3rd. We decided a nice romantic weekend away was in store so we packed up, dropped Weston off with some friends for the weekend and headed to Busch Gardens! There's something about dropping face first for 205 feet at 74 miles and hours that screams romance. Or maybe it just SCREAMS! I know I did.

This ride was crazy fun. They take you to the top and then just dangle you over the edge for a few seconds before they drop you. This was the first ride we went on when we got to the park and we only had to wait 10 minutes before we were strapped in the front row danging above the park.

This water was just a cool effect, nobody actually got wet. There were pleanty of other rides to get soaked on.

We didn't ride this rollercoaster until after dark. That definately added to the coolness.

Me and my forever sweety. Me in my obnoxious purple sunglasses. We are in line for the Alpengiest. We didn't like this coaster, it had too many jerks and twists and it left us a bit woozy. It's the white roller coaster you see in the back ground.

We found this lollypop in a candy shop. I think it weighed over 5 lbs! Lift with your legs and not your back!

They also had this cool wild life preserve. Everyone say HI to Jacob. (Rumor has it, he hunts vampires)

They also had this open area full of bald eagles. We couldn't understand why they were all staying there since it was completely open to the park. Turns out they are all rescued eagles. They have all had injuries that made them flightless. It was cool to see them so up close.

We took this picture for you, Calvin!

"This ride contains two steep drops and is not recommened for guests with a fear of hights."

STRAWBERRY PICKIN'

I can't beieve this place is just around the corner from our house! It was the coolest. We got to pick tons of strawberries and they charge only $1.49 a pound. We had some "free samples" and also got to play with the animals. We figured the horses had enough strawberries so we brought him a carrot stick. It was a fun and beautiful morning!
