Fun In The Sun!

I suppose it's perfect weather to dust off the kiddie pool for some fun in the sun. Weston had a blast, of course. By the time we were able to snatch him out of there his diaper was the size of a small planet. I should have snapped a picture of the diaper also.

Saturday was also hair cutting day. Weston did NOT like the clippers on his head. So after a few failed attempts, Mike had to hold Weston's head while he screamed and mamma did her best to cut his hair as fast as possible. All was forgiven when the pool came out afterwards.

Also fun for summer, the ROSES ARE BLOOMING! YAY! I got a couple of long stem roses for Mother's Day last Sunday. I love watching them bloom, they are beautiful.

On another note: A few weeks back a guy from our church sent out an email giving away some budding fruits and vegies from his green house. So we dropped by and he gave us a tray full of yellow squash, zucchini, cucumbers and cantelope! YUM! He explained to us which plants needed full sunlight and which needed a fence to climb. The next day Mike went out and bought a bunch of good soil and then spent a good part of the day digging up a space in the back yard, fencing it off to keep Weston out, and planting the vegies as we had been instructed. Now, do any of you remember the scene from the movie "Secondhand Lions" where the old men decide to plant a garden. The boy asks his uncle what they are growing the the uncle replys pointing to the individual row saying something like "this is corn, beets, carrots" etc... and then the boy says something like "then why do they all look the same". Turns out they had been swindled and they ended up with an entire field full of corn. NOW back to my story! I go out to check on our lovely garden of squash, zucchini, cucumbers and cantelopes and THEY ALL LOOK EXACTLY THE SAME!!! Every one of them has the same type of leaves!!! ARG! Only time will tell what it is that we are growing and something deep down tells me it will probably be the yellow squash- because I hate yellow squash!!
