Random pics

So we had about a week of fabulous weather. I snapped a picture of Mike and Weston enjoying their Sunday afternoon. It was so nice out we put Weston to bed and Mike dragged the air mattress out to the yard and we took our Sunday evening nap in the back yard. Ahhh... Life in the slow lane...

This was the Cardinal that woke us up in time to make dinner. :) Beautiful day! We are constantly reminded that we live in the best place in the world. You are jealous, aren't you?

On another note, this is the fabric that I got to make the baby's room. I love the fun colors and I am going to get right to work sewing and painting the walls and the dresser to match. DIY projects are so fun!

This video was taken at the park. My little thrill seeker loves this thing- I don't know what to call it. He will ride it back and forth until his hands can't hold on any more and we have to tear him away from it.

Weston

Picture this:

Weston is sitting sideways on the couch reading a book and turning the pages with his feet. And with each page he says "Thank-you, toe. Thank-you, toe."

So polite.

It's a....

So we made a family outing of going to the ultrasound this morning. Mike took the morning off and we brought Weston along so he could see the baby in mommy's tummy. (I still don't know how to explain to Weston that there is a baby in mommy's tummy without him thinking I ate a baby. I guess we are just going to have to head to the library and check out some books on the subject.) For now, we just don't make a big deal out of it. We still have a while before baby arrives.
So, even though I have always been envious of moms that have all boys, I really thought this one was going to be a girl. I was right when I guessed Weston was a boy so maybe I thought I had a gender-guessing gift. Now I actually have to get out of the habit of calling the baby her. And on top of that, she had a name and I had the whole baby's room decorated in my head. So, I am back to square one, not knowing what to name him or how to decorate the room (This may not seem important, but trust me, it is a necessity. The room needs to be painted.)
So time to focus on all the reasons I wanted another boy (I was hoping for a boy, just expecting a girl). I LOVE that Weston is going to have a younger brother -or rather, that younger brother is going to have Weston for an older brother. I am thrilled that they are going to be born the at same time of year, so I have all the clothes in the right sizes for the season, not to mention perfect sizes on Halloween costumes! I can not imagine how small this house would get if we filled it with girl stuff.
So YAY for our family! It's a boy! Please send baby name suggestions! I'll send a prize to the winner.
Having another boy made me think I should post this short video I got of Weston last week.

Circus

We went to the Ringling Brother's Circus last night. I do not recommend our seats even if you can get them for $9 each. I got quite a case of vertigo up there. I wouldn't even stand for the National Anthem. Yikes. So pretty much all of the pictures of the elephants and tigers did not turn out.

Weston enjoyed his first taste of cotton candy. Although, It took a lot of convincing before he would give it a try. By the way, $12 for cotton candy (!!!) And I thought they made their money off ticket sales!

They had a meet the cast and animals at the beginning. Weston was captivated- this did not last through the show. Sorry to the lady in the seat in front of us for all the kicking.

YAY for 7 dirt bikes in a cage (this pic has only 4, but they did get 7 in there)
Maybe we will try again next year when Weston is a bit older. We will have to get better seats- which means we will have to start saving now. And if we get more cotten candy say goodbye to your college fund...

Hives

***UPDATE*** As of Friday the hives have all cleared up. Thanks for the comments.

So Weston woke up covered in hives this morning. He had a case of them this past summer and we never figured out what it came from. I don't think he is allergic to anything. He has been itching them and fussing about it so I keep coating his body in calamine lotion. Any suggestions from mom's who have been through this before?
I learned online that hives are cause by an allergy or stress. Weston has had a cold recently with a nasty croupy cough. I can only figure that his body is just rejecting being sick or he is stressed from Grandma and Grandpa being in town for the weekend. It's a tough job being so adorable.
