We live just a short walk from a beautiful lake with a lovely walking path around the outside. This is a typical conversation with Weston as we walk.
Weston: Oh LOOK mama, it's a doggy! Someday, can we have a doggy at our house???
Mom: Someday. But I think our house is too small for a doggy right now.
......
(small dog walks by)
Weston: How about that doggy, mama. It's a small doggy for our small house.
Mom: That's a good one. How about if we get a doggy in our next house. I promise.
....
(passes one of the dog-poop stations with the bags and the garbage)
Weston: Look mama, that's where the doggies go poo poo.
Mom: Yes, it is.
....
Weston: There's a bridge, mama!! Oh! and some water!
....
(Stop to feed the ducks)
Weston: (laughing hysterically at the geese and ducks trying to get the bread) SILLY GOOSE! Don't get me. Get back. Look mama, they're getting the bread. Don't eat Dallin's toes!
(Other people stop and stare at Weston making a huge scene as he laughs so hard he can barely stand.)
.....
Weston: What a pretty tree. Are those purple flowers? Can I smell them. (Stops to smell the flowers)
.....
Weston: (sees another dog poop station) Look mama, that's makes the doggies go poo poo.
....
(a child passes crying)
Weston: Is she sad mama?
Mom: Yes, she is sad.
Weston: Why is she sad?
Mom: I don't know. Maybe her mommy forgot to bring her some fruit snacks.
Weston. Yeah, she just needs some fruit snacks.
....
Weston: (sees more ducks) You silly ducks, I don't have any more bread!
Never a dull moment.
